Who we are
Family Assistance Offices have been set up in Medicare Australia offices, Centrelink Customer Service Centres and Australian Taxation Office shopfronts across the country, offering a range of payments to support families with their work and family responsibilities.It has been set up to give Australian families better access to government services. Instead of going to different agencies to get family assistance, families are able to get all their payments from just one place - the Family Assistance Office.

What we do
We provide financial assistance and information to families. Some of the payments we deliver are:- Family Tax Benefit Part A
- Family Tax Benefit Part B
- Child Care Benefit
- Child Care Tax Rebate
- Baby Bonus
- Maternity Immunisation Allowance
- Rent Assistance
We are also here to:
- Answer questions about these payments from simple to complex
- Assist with income estimation
- Help you lodge forms for any of our payments
- Help you choose a payment option that best suits your circumstances
- Advise you on what to do if your circumstances change
- Organise appointments for you to speak to an officer if you have special needs.
Customer Charter
A customer charter provides information about the agency you are dealing with. It has details such as:- how to contact the agency;
- the type of service you can expect;
- your basic rights and responsibilities; and
- how to give the agency feedback
As Medicare Australia offices, Centrelink Customer Service Centres and Australian Taxation Office shopfronts all deliver family assistance services, they all have their own customer charters.
