What information does the Family Assistance Office need to reconcile my Family Tax Benefit or Child Care Benefit for a particular financial year?
Income
If you and/or your partner are required to lodge an income tax return, your Family Assistance entitlement is reconciled on:- Actual Taxable Income (provided by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO)); plus
- Employer provided fringe benefits (provided by the ATO and adjusted by the Family Assistance Office); plus
- Net rental property loss (provided by the ATO); plus
- Any income from overseas, or any tax free benefits or pensions you received; less
- Any child support (maintenance) that you paid during the financial year;
Additional information
- You need to let us know if you and/or your partner are not required to lodge a tax return;
- If you receive child support, which is collected on your behalf by the Child Support Agency, they will tell us the amount of child support you have received;
- If you are receiving Child Care Benefit as reduced fees, your child care provider needs to tell us about your child's usage.
