How can I find out what my taxable income was last year?
This is shown on your notice of assessment for last year. If you have misplaced last year's notice of assessment, you can contact the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) on 13 28 61 to obtain your taxable income details.
In order to receive this information over the phone, you will need to provide the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) with your full name, postal address, date of birth and tax file number, and other information that is particular to you, such as:
- the amount of last year's refund or debit
- your EFT account number, and
- your HECS student course code or your HECS balance.
- a laminated or stamped identification with a photo - for example, a passport or drivers licence;
- an assessment or amendment notice that can be checked on the ATO system;
- an ATO generated notice; or
- other documents such as citizenship certificates or school/university records.
