Multiple Birth Allowance

Multiple Birth Allowance is an extra payment to help you if you have a multiple birth.

Am I eligible for a Multiple Birth Allowance?

You can get Multiple Birth Allowance if you have three or more children who are born during the same birth for whom you receive Family Tax Benefit.

How much can I get?

Multiple Birth Allowance
Number of children Extra each fortnight Extra each year
Triplets $125.58 $3,274.05
Quadruplets or more $167.44 $4,365.40

Multiple Birth Allowance can be added to your Family Tax Benefit and will be paid to families with at least three children born in the same multiple birth (triplets or more) until the children are 16 years of age; or if at least three of the children are in full time study, until the end of the calendar year in which they turn 18 years of age.

How do I apply?

You do not need to make a separate claim for Multiple Birth Allowance, as it will be paid as part of your Family Tax Benefit.

If you are eligible and are not already receiving Multiple Birth Allowance as part of your Family Tax Benefit, you should contact us.
